Nikita is a 6 yr old blue heeler who found herself needing a new beginning after her owner lost his home and, through no fault of her own, could no longer provide the care she deserved. <br/><br/>True to her Blue Heeler roots, Nikita is smart, loyal, affectionate, and devoted to her person. Once you're her human, you're her human—and shell happily be your faithful shadow. She has a moderate energy level and is the perfect mix of playful and ready-to-settle-down-and-hang-out.<br/><br/>Nikita is also a girl who knows what she wants: she wants to be the queen of her castle! She can become jealous if another dog tries to steal her persons attention, so she would probably be happiest as the only dog in the home. That said, Nikita does very well meeting and interacting with other dogs in neutral settings. Her issue isnt that she doesnt like dogs—its that she would really prefer not to share her people with them. And honestly, can you blame a girl who knows her worth? <br/><br/>Nikita is crate trained, housebroken, and walks like an absolute dream on leash. She's looking for a home with older, dog-savvy children who understand that herding breeds can be intense, loyal, and sometimes a little opinionated.
