She loves chasing her tail more than anything; she can walk for miles and loves carrying her toy with her. She can sit with her front legs curled up like a cat. Nikita also likes to bury her toys in her water bowl. <br/><br/>Meet Nikita! Her favorite thing to do is chase her tail. But she is not as into cat friends. She needs more exercise than a bodybuilder. The most important thing to know about Nikita is she must always carry something in her mouth.

We have an adoption application; after approval, we have a meet and greet with the potential owner and the other dogs in the house. We have a two-week trial period for everyone to ensure that the new pet will work out. We always accept the animals back even after two weeks for any reason and any amount of time.

Our Mission

Bernie’s Buddies is a primarily dog and cat rescue and advocacy group that works in Huntington, WV, to help keep animals from euthanasia. We also take in a limited number of strays. In addition, we locally adopt or advocate from other rescues in other states.
