Nika's Story
Nika is currently in a foster home. If you would like to meet her, please start by visiting www.sccrescue.org and completing an application.

Meet Nika (short for Veronica)! This gentle girl might seem a little shy when you first meet her, but with a little patience and kindness you'll quickly see her true personality shine. Once she feels safe, Nika will show you her playful, happy side full of backyard zoomies, soft toy fetch, and curious squirrel-watching sessions. She’s the perfect balance of calm cuddle buddy and playful companion.

Nika is house trained and politely lets you know when she needs to go out by heading to the door. She enjoys her daily walks, naps peacefully on her cozy blankets, and rarely barks. She’s learning fun tricks like “spin,” loves treats (especially boiled chicken!), and gets along well with other dogs—usually taking the more easygoing, submissive role. When left alone she’s very well behaved, though she may gently “borrow” a shoe to keep near her while she naps.

You might say finding Nika is a bit like discovering a four-leaf clover. If you’re looking for a calm companion who will grow into your devoted best friend, Nika might just be the little bit of luck your home has been waiting for!

Interested in adopting this dog?
Visit our website (http://www.SecondCityCanineRescue.org) to fill out an application and to find out where this dog may be shown this weekend.

We love our dogs. We want happy lives for all of them and are looking for the home that provides the best fit for each dog’s individual needs. Please understand that there may be multiple families interested in this dog.

Also, please know that the breed mix listed is simply a guess. In most cases, we don’t know their background. We encourage you to base your decision on individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on our guess.

Please understand, we only adopt our animals out near the Chicagoland area. Questions? Email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org. Hope to see you become part of the SCCR family!
