Nick's Story

Nick is so sad that he still hasn't found a home to call his own.

He is about the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet! He has a very mellow personality and loves giving very soft kisses. It doesn’t take much to make Nick happy, and when you do something he loves, you are always rewarded with a kiss or his cute little grin. Playing outside or just resting on a dog bed in the house, you’ll rarely see him stop smiling. While he can be shy at first, it takes very little effort to earn his trust.

About two years ago, Nick was diagnosed with Pharyngeal Dysphagia. This makes it challenging for him to swallow properly, which sometimes causes him to aspirate food. His foster family has found this to be easily manageable with a diet of meatballs or frozen sliders. They have also been testing other foods to see what works best for him.

He has been working with a holistic veterinarian and has benefited greatly from a range of treatments including acupuncture, acupressure points, herbs, and supplements. He will need to continue following his treatment plan in his new home. With all his treatment he hasn't had any bouts of aspiration pneumonia in over a year.

A fenced yard is a must for Nick as he just loves to run around and play with doggie friends every day. Having another dog in the home to show him the ropes would also be ideal. If you’re ready to have your heart stolen, look no further than this guy. He has a lot to love to give and can’t wait to join a family of his own!
