Nicholas's Story

Meet Nicholas. This little man is a survivor! He had a home prior to crossing our path. When we first met Nicholas (the name we gave him) his owner held him up for us to see his eye..."he caught it on the fence, and it ripped it out" she said, almost gleefully. It had happened months prior, and Nicholas did not receive any medical care. At the time of Nicholas' rescue, we were doing a lot of community service in the trailer park where Nicholas lived. And each time we came, Nicholas was loose, dodging traffic, in the heat, with a body full of ticks, and an eye injury that reminded us of the neglect and cruelty he had endured. But on an early hot August day, Nicholas was once again roaming the streets, but this time, we had seen enough. Nicholas was exhausted, his fur was matted, he was panting and finding shade under a car far from his prior home. This time, we did not hesitate. We scooped him up and Nicholas suddenly had a future that would be surrounded by compassion and love. Today Nicholas is thriving. He had surgery on his eye and it has healed beautifully. He cleans up nicely, as cute as a button after a visit to the groomer. Nicholas is full of happiness. He loves all humans, big and small, and he likes to romp with his foster dogs friends. Nicholas does well with cats....he is excited to see cats but in play mode. Nicholas will make a wonderful companion. He is about two years old, he is cute and he fits on your lap!
