Neville 's Story

A litter of 6 puppies were born at the vet's office when Mom was rushed there because she had been attacked by some other dogs. Their Mom, Beya, lost an eye due to the attack. In spite of what Beya went through, she was a wonderful Mom to her babies. The puppies are weaned and Mom has been spayed and now everyone is ready to find their new families. Beya's puppies were born on 9/17/25. There was 1 girl (Hermione) and 5 boys (Albus, Dobbie, Harry, Neville & Ron). The siblings are all healthy, happy, playful and social puppies. Mom is 18 pounds full grown. We do not know who the Dad(s) are. They are good with people and other dogs. We do not know what they think of cats. At about 10-11 weeks old, the puppies are weighing 5-8 pounds. Please help Neville find the loving home he deserves. ***You must provide a vet reference for a current or past pet you have/had.*** We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Please understand that we are an animal shelter and thus unable to say whether the dogs are housebroken as they are not in homes. For puppies that have not been able to be neutered/spayed yet (due to being too young or small) we charge $500 with the condition that when they are fixed $50 is refunded. This covers all their age-appropriate shots, microchipping and vetting. **If you are coming to an adoption event to see a certain dog/cat, please email ahead of time to make sure that dog/cat will be there that day. Our dogs and cats are not first come/first serve. We place pets with the home that is the best fit for them. Not all animals are good in all homes, whether it’s their personalities, nature, or breed. We base our decision on what’s best for the dog or cat and the family. Thank you for understanding! Our Shelter is now operating. However, please note that the shelter is NOT open to the public and is by appointment only and only for persons with approved applications on file. Some may ask, "Why isn't the shelter open for walk through visits? Why do I have to make an appointment to see the animals?" At O.S.C.A.R., one of our highest priorities is the health and well-being of the animals in our care. Unlike city shelters or pounds, whose residents are in place for a short time, as a no-kill shelter, our pets can be with us for a longer period of time. The shelter is the only safe place and home they know. When strangers, even well-meaning ones looking to adopt, walk through the shelter, it stresses our animals. We make appointments for potential adopters to meet our dogs either in our Bark Yard or one of our meeting rooms. We'll spend as much time as you need and introduce you to as many animals as you'd like to meet in order to make the best match and help you find the perfect new family member! Adoption Process 1.
