Nemo's Story

Please, only VERY VERY experienced people should apply to adopt Nemo, no children.

NEMO aka NAMOUR was surrendered to a high-kill shelter when his owners moved. NEMO was so frightened he would not let anyone touch him so was marked for euthanasia. NEMO was pulled by HDR and is now in a foster home.

Nemo is a very under socialized little dog, a Pomeranian, who lived in a condo his whole life. He used potty pads inside and rarely had a walk or trip outside of the apartment. He is afraid of strangers including children, tries to get away from other dogs and has never met a cat.

Nemo will take many months before he will allow himself to trust. If Nemo is stressed and feels scared, he could nip or bite if someone is trying to pick him up or groom or handle him before he feels settled. This is a result of being so isolated.

Nemo is presently living and walking with five other dogs here at the moment. He does however like his own space most of the time and is now crate trained.

Nemo can be a big resource guarder, his bed, toys, but as he trusts his person more, that settles down. If you leave a treat on his things he understands you are giving, not taking.

Nemo requires a VERY, VERY experienced person who is patient, uses only positive training and keeps him to a schedule to help him trust and open up. Once he does, he is affectionate and a little clown!

Nemo is 5 years old and fully vetted.

Please contact us if you have any questions and to request an application.

Thank you

Helen Hatton
Hatton Dog Rescue
