Nelson-So sweet; loves his people!'s Story

Nelson is looking forward to his fresh start. He was found in a rural area and we learned he came from a farm where there were several other dogs. It was quite a shock to him when he ended up at OAHS as a stray. He wasn't sure what to think of things and was shut down the first few days but recently we've seen him really start to come out of his shell! He can be cautious with new people at first but just give him some time and patience; when he's comfortable he'll give you kisses and body wiggles!

More about Nelson:
- 2 years old; 31 pounds
- Adorable guy with a long, short corgi/dachshund-type body (this is not his breed in particular; he just has a similar body type)
- Takes a bit of time to get comfortable with new people. Once he is comfortable he's affectionate - he loves belly rubs.
- Seems to peacefully coexist with other dogs but hasn't seemed interested in playing yet
- Has started to play with toys!
- Suggested for quiet households with children in teen years due to initial shyness and caution
- Will be a wonderful boy for a lucky person or family
-Neutered, vaccinated & microchipped

Please note dog visits are by appointment to ensure staff and space availability so we can make the best match possible.
