Nellie takes a little time to warm up, but once she decides you're her person, she is all in. We're talking full-body leans, endless scratches, and even climbing right into your lap for maximum snuggle access.<br/><br/>She's come a long way with her confidence out in the world. Nellie is still working on some leash manners when on walks, but she's learning a wonderful new habit: instead of letting out a little “awoo,” she'll check in with her person, make eye contact, and sit politely — because she knows that being brave earns her lots of treats. At the end of the day, she just wants to make sure her people are safe.<br/><br/>Nellie is fully potty trained and has made huge progress now that she knows she's free to go whenever she's outside. She's got the routine down and continues to do great.<br/><br/>At home, Nellie absolutely LOVES her crate. It's her safe haven. She happily goes in for naps, sleeps soundly through the night, and settles immediately when left home alone — no fuss, no noise, just straight to sleep. Truly a dream housemate.<br/><br/>This smart cookie knows “sit” like a pro and is eager to keep learning. She thrives with gentle encouragement and loves having a job to do — especially if treats are involved.<br/><br/>Nellie also appreciates thoughtful introductions. She does best meeting new people outside before they come into her home, so she can feel comfortable and confident. Once she's decided you're a friend, she'll happily welcome you in — often by digging into her toy bin to bring you something to play with.<br/><br/>While she's making great progress, Nellie can feel overwhelmed in busy or crowded environments. She'll do best in a quieter home and neighborhood where she can continue building confidence at her own pace and feel safe in her surroundings. Every day she grows braver, softer, and more connected. Watching her confidence bloom has been such a gift.<br/><br/>Nellie's ideal forever home will be patient, kind, and ready to let her continue blossoming at her own pace.
