Negro's Story

~ FROM SURVIVING TO THRIVING: ONE LONG JOURNEY
When a new AA center opened on the outskirts of Puerto Vallarta, the first members saw a stray dog lingering around, curious about the people and grateful for the scraps of food and affection he was given. But soon it became clear that he had never known the love of a real family. That was when Irina, with her kind heart, stepped in to give him the chance he had always deserved. She bathed him, took him to the vet, and discovered his story was written on his body; patches of fur missing from dermatitis and a limp caused by an old injury, likely from being hit or mistreated. After bloodwork and tests were done and making sure, he did not carry any life-threatening disease, Irina took him home and started his life-changing journey.

Negro is about 3 years old, weighs around 22 kilos, and is a handsome Labrador mix.

Despite his hard start in life, Negro radiates sweetness and resilience. He walks a little funny, but his spirit shines brighter than ever. He is amazing with adults, teenagers, and little kids, and he is just as sweet with other dogs and even cats. After surviving life on the streets, nothing seems to rattle him, not traffic, thunderstorms, or even fireworks. What he loves is his daily walk, though he prefers to keep his distance if other dogs approach while he is on leash. At home, he is the most easygoing companion, happily sharing his toys, food bowl, and even his favorite nap spot with his four-legged foster siblings. In the car, he may start out a little anxious, but once he realizes it means adventure, he relaxes and enjoys the ride. Negro has also shown he can stay home alone for up to 8 hours without ever being destructive. He is even learning his manners and now responds to “sit” and his absolute favorite phrase: “let’s go for a walk.” His goofy side makes him extra lovable, like when he decides to eat lying flat on the floor, which never fails to crack up his foster mom. Negro is not just a survivor, he is a resilient, playful, and loving boy who would thrive with an active family that loves the outdoors as much as he does.
Now, what he needs most is a forever family who will see beyond the scars of his past and embrace the loyal, loving dog he truly is.

Negro’s adoption fee is $550, which includes his flight, neuter, vaccinations, and full vetting.
