Nash's Story
А060236 Nash; neutered German Shepherd mix; est. 9 months; 40.80 lbs
Contact: Calaveras County Animal Services
📱 (209)754-6509
🌐 Website: https://animal.calaverasgov.us/
📧 Email: animal@calaverascounty.gov

Brace yourself for some adorable puppitudinous antics! Nash, at around 9 months, is about as exuberant and silly as a pupper can be, jumping for joy, chasing the ball, dashing about madly, chewing up sticks, digging maniacally, inhaling his food, and subjecting us to his puppy-wants-a-treat eyes at the slightest hint of us reaching into a pocket.

Found straying in Angels Camp, we don't know Nash's history but we're sad to think that someone who obviously worked with Nash might have lost such a sweet little guy. He's already very good at sit and down, plays fetch like a champ, and pays attention to commands—even if he doesn't quite have a trick down yet. He has a warm-hearted temperament underneath all that energy.

One area we are working with him on is leash manners. He has a bad puppy habit of jumping around and biting the leash; however, he does listen when corrected and we imagine he'll grow out of the irrepressible wiggles with time and training.

Overall, we’d guess that Nash will mature into a really great dog. He'll need a home where he can get plenty of exercise in order to thrive. He'd do well with a companion dog to help run off the endless energy. So far, he has been delighted to meet every dog we've introduced him to.

Nash is neutered and can go home with you right away.

He keeps his kennel very tidy, so he may already be housetrained, though of course we can't make guarantees.

We do not have info on his attitude toward cats at this time.

As always, a meet-and-greet is required if you have other dogs at home. 🤎🐶🤎
