Nash's Story

Hi, my name is Nash! I’m a big, strong boy, but don’t let that fool you. Imagine a 90lbs teddy bear that loves toys and swimming and scratches, and well, that’s me! I’m 5 years old and have learned so much in the last year at the rescue, namely how to walk better on a leash and not be an escape artist (that’s puppy stuff after all). I was heartbroken when my last family had to give me up, but after a few weeks of sulking I decided to give life at the rescue my all. I’ve made great friends with all the volunteers. My previous family had a bulldog and we got along well. I’m not really into cats. But that’s okay because cats and water don’t mix, and my absolute favorite hobby is swimming. If you live near the ocean, or a lake, or have a pool, you might be my favorite person ever. If you want an activity buddy, I’m your guy. I’m also happy to snuggle up and chill out, but please do get me my exercise during the day! I can’t wait to meet you.

Please visit http://www.coastalk9gsr.org/ to learn more about our dogs. Click on available dogs: https://www.coastalk9gsr.org/team to see further descriptions. If you are interested in me, please contact us at information@coastalgsrsd.org or call (858) 779-9149. Don't forget to fill out our online application: https://www.coastalk9gsr.org/applications. The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible. Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems. Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.
