Nash's Story

***Nash***
@9 month old male black Labrador Retriever mix

Hi, I’m Nash!

I’m a young Lab mix with a whole lot of love to give. At first, I can be shy when meeting new people, but once I feel safe, my tail starts wagging, and before you know it, I’ll be zooming around to show you how happy I am. I need a gentle, patient family who will give me time to open up and become the sweet, goofy boy I truly am.

The nice folks at LELRR don’t know exactly what my situation was before I was picked up as a stray, but the outside world and new people can make me pretty nervous. I’ve come a long way in the few months I’ve been in my foster home, but every day is still a new experience and I’ll need my people (and a friendly dog sibling) to help me learn to feel safe and comfortable in new situations.

A doggie sibling (or more!) for me to play with and to help show me the ropes is a must. Since I’m still figuring out my puppy manners, I’d do best with a friendly, patient dog who won’t mind teaching me. A physical fence would be best to keep me safe while I explore and play at your home, however if you don't have a physical fence and are able to exercise and play with me safely, that would be okay too. No invisible fences, please.

I’m a smart pup and have already learned so much with my foster family. I’ve even had some professional training! Like most dogs my age, I can test the boundaries now and then, but I’m eager to please—especially if there are treats involved!

I have a lot of curiosity and energy. I really love my weekly visits to doggy daycare and have done very well in that environment. I’ll thrive in a home where I can stay active and keep learning about the big world around me.

I’ve been doing great with my crate—it’s my safe space when my people are away–and I love to curl up in there at night for some much-needed relaxation time after a long day of exploring and learning new things.

I am fully housebroken and have even learned to ring a bell when I need to go outside!

I live with two cats in my foster home and I’ve been told I’m a very good boy around them. I haven’t spent too much time around children, but young kids may make me nervous.

I’m neutered, up-to-date on all my vaccines, and ready to find a family who will love me just as much as I’ll love them. I may start out a little shy, but with patience and kindness, I’ll reward you with endless tail wags, zoomies, and a loyal heart.

Could I be the perfect addition to your pack?

If you are an approved LELRR adopter, refer to the instructions on your approval email.

Otherwise, please fill out an application at:

https://www.lelrr.org/adopt.html

Be prepared to provide proof of up to date vaccinations and year round heartworm preventative for any current or recent pets that you have owned.

Adoption radius 150 driving miles from Medina OHIO
