NALA FOSTER's Story

Nala is a beautiful 9-month-old female Lab with a gentle heart and a shy, thoughtful nature. She’s a young dog who didn’t get the chance to experience much human socialization early on, so meeting new people can feel a little overwhelming for her at first. That said, Nala is an extremely sweet girl who truly shines once she feels safe and comfortable.

When Nala first arrived in foster care, she was nervous around people and preferred the comfort of familiar dogs. With just a short time in a structured daycare and boarding environment—where dogs spend their days socializing naturally with other dogs—she has already made noticeable progress. She’s becoming more comfortable with staff and is learning that people are a normal, positive part of her world.

Nala warms up with time and patience, and once you’re in her circle, you’re really in. She builds trust slowly but deeply, forming meaningful bonds with the people who give her space and understanding. With continued confidence-building and gentle introductions, her foster family and shelter staff both believe she will continue to grow more comfortable meeting new people.

Nala would do best in a home that is calm, patient, and dog-savvy—ideally with another friendly, confident dog to help show her the ropes. She’ll thrive with adopters who understand that shy dogs blossom at their own pace and are ready to celebrate each small win along the way.

If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive soul and are willing to give her the time she needs to feel secure, Nala has so much love waiting just for you.

Check out all my pics here! https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ZndmAbxz_UZuB6oU3j521yfB_VBglG8U?usp=sharing

Interested in meeting me?
