Her favorite things include stuffed toys: throw one and she’ll chase it, or watch her toss it into the air herself and bounce right on top of it. When playtime is over, she’s happy to curl up with a toy close by.<br/><br/>Nala can be a little shy when meeting new people, especially at the park, but she has warmed up quickly to visitors in her foster home. Once she’s comfortable, she’s very affectionate, loves being close to her people, and actually enjoys a hug. Nala is even developing a fan base at Red Bud Isle. The regulars recognize her now, and a recent visitor to her foster home joked about trading his dog for Nala when he found out she gives kisses. No dogs were traded.<br/><br/>She currently lives with five other dogs and has done great with all of them. Nala walks nicely on a leash and enjoys exploring the park. She has a lovely balance of playful energy and quiet time at home.<br/><br/>Nala is house-trained and has learned to use a dog door. She was quiet when crated occasionally in her first foster home, though she rarely chose to go in on her own. After she had some time to settle in, she was allowed to free roam in the house and hasn’t destroyed anything, gotten into things, or counter surfed.<br/>Nala was initially so curious about the cats in her first foster home that she’d army-crawl under the bed to find them. With time, she got used to them.
