Nala's Story

10/26/25 update: Nala is a world champion cuddler! Little Spoon, between your legs, she just wants to be near you. She is so affectionate and loves receiving your love too. Give her some ear rubs and her sweet little eyes close because she's loving it so much. She is also a world champ at playing with pups! Medium, small, five times her size- it doesn't matter, she loves them all!

Meet Nala We don't know much of her background as she was found in the Rio Grande Valley. She spent two months in the Valley getting all her vetting done and then traveled to San Antonio, Texas to get ready for adoption! Her foster in San Antonio says she is "absolutely amazing I love her!"

Nala is totally ready for a family of her own! Everyone falls in love with her sweet personality! She's very playful, sweet, and normally submissive. She hasn't met a dog yet she doesn't love! She's amazing with kids, and the child in her foster home likes to walk her because she stays right next to him glued to his leg.

Nala is always eager to be with her person. She is crate trained and almost fully potty trained. While she hasn't formally been introduced to a cat, she hasn't reacted to the stray cats where she currently stays. We are hoping to find Nala a family soon because she deserves a new adventure.

Nala has made the journey from San Antonio, Texas, up to Colorado and is being fostered in Denver, available to meet!

Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa.

Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio.
