At just 23 pounds full-grown, Nakia is the perfect little package for someone looking for a smart, snuggly companion.<br/><br/>Nakia came to us as a stray and can be nervous when meeting new people. But give her a little time and you'll discover the sweetest girl who loves to cuddle, play with toys, and be close to her people. Once she knows you, she becomes incredibly affectionate and can be a little protective of the people she loves. She warms up especially well to children.<br/><br/>Nakia has spent some time in foster care and has shown us that she really shines in a quieter home where she can relax and feel secure. She's incredibly smart, food-motivated, and already knows sit, stay, and crate, with more training underway. She is house-trained and crate-trained, walks well on a leash, and even respects the baby gate despite being surprisingly agile!<br/><br/>Nakia is dog-friendly with slow, thoughtful introductions and may do best with smaller, more submissive dogs. She would prefer a home without cats.<br/><br/>She's not the dog who will necessarily run up and greet every stranger she meets.
