Nac's Maya TX's Story
This sweet girl is Maya. She belonged to a kind woman who adopted her years ago from the animal shelter, and they had been each others' companions ever since. Unfortunately, Maya's owner is in a nursing home and will not be coming home. Maya found herself alone and in need of a loving new family. One of the neighbors was checking on her and feeding her; however, the house Maya was living in was sold, and the neighbor was going to surrender Maya back to the shelter she was originally adopted from.

Maya is 7-years-old, 65 pounds, spayed, and up to date on shots. She is good with other dogs, big and small, and also great with cats.
She would be fine as an only dog or with other pet-siblings.
She loves going on walks and exploring the backyard. She also likes playing with other dogs her size. Maya loves her foster mom's teenage son - she would do best with calm older kids. She was a little uncertain about the husband at first, but quickly warmed up to him. She has a flea allergy so she must be kept on monthly prevention. Maya is 100% housetrained, too. Although she would love a home where someone was home a lot, she does fine when her people are at work/school.

Maya is a sweet, calm, passive dog, and we would love to find her a forever home to live out the rest of her life.
