MYA's Story

Please contact foster at JCRUBINSKI@GMAIL.COM Meet Mya! It's fitting that this sweet girl originally came into the shelter on Valentine's Day because she is the biggest lovebug! While at the shelter, she was a volunteer favorite! Here's what you need to know about her... - Gorgeous girl with the softest coat - Potty trained: no accidents while in her foster home - Dog-friendly. She loves to play and would do best in a home with a neutral, confident dog. Her play can be rough but reads cues from other dogs. - Very friendly in general! She enjoys meeting people and has done well with children that approach her for pets in public. - Smart girl- knows sit, paw, lay down. She knows her name and listens well. - She takes treats very gently and enjoys them! She would be easy to train. - Mya enjoys a game of fetch as much as cuddling on the couch. She would love a home where she can play with her person or dog sibling and go on daily walks, but she doesn't require a lot of exercise. - She willingly goes into her crate, but sometimes will whine or bark for about 5-10 minutes before she settles. She sleeps in her crate all night and when we are not home. - She has not been destructive except with her stuffed animal toys and she's polite and gentle about it. - Loves to go for car rides - jumps right in and settles immediately - Does great on outings to a brewery or bunch. She's relaxed and enjoys hanging out with her person - She loves to go on walks and sniff around. She's easy on leash and only pulls toward other dogs. She does seem to have a prey drive. She will fixate on a squirrel or outdoor cat. I'm not sure if she would do well in a home with cats, but I haven't tested it. She has met small dogs in public and did ok. Mya is the sweetest girl and would be a loyal, loving companion for any family!
