Mutt Damon's Story
I've got a big personality, and I like doing things my way... but I'll still come back to you when it counts.

My name is Mutt Damon, and I've been here since 1/06/2026 after coming from Animal Friends of the Valley. With people, I'm affectionate, interactive, and not shy about asking for attention. I'll jump up, give kisses, and check in with you often, especially once I know you. I'm actually more interested in you than treats most of the time, which says a lot about how much I enjoy that connection.

On leash, I know more than I let on. I can walk nicely at your side, but I'll test it if I think I can get away with it. I'm very aware of my surroundings, always taking things in, so I do best with someone who keeps me engaged and gives me direction instead of letting me drift.

In the yard, I like to explore and move around on my own, but I'll circle back for attention and interaction. I'm not glued to you, but I don't ignore you either. It's more of a balance.

When it comes to other dogs, things get a little more complicated. I can be social and even play appropriately in the right setting, especially with females or calmer dogs. But I tend to fixate, especially on certain male dogs, and once I lock in, I can become pushy and persistent. I don't always take hints right away, and I may try to control the interaction instead of letting it stay easygoing. Because of that, I need carefully managed introductions and the right kind of dog friends.

My energy is on the higher side, both mentally and physically. I'm always thinking, always noticing, always ready to engage with something.

What I need is someone experienced and consistent. Someone who won't let me make all the decisions, but also understands that I'm not just chaos, I'm a dog who does really well when I have structure and clear expectations.

If you're looking for a smart, affectionate, and active dog who will keep you engaged and on your toes in the best way, come meet me. I think we could make a strong team.
