Mushroom (Taki) Pit Bull Terrier Chandler, AZ

Hi there, I'm Mushroom but my foster family and friends call me Taki after the prized Matsuke mushroom! I got my name in the shelter where I was covered head to toe with a stinky mysterious skin ailment that thanks to One Love is now in the rear view mirror. I have an autoimmune condition called “Pemphigus” - say that 5 times! - but it is totally manageable with inexpensive steroids and I’ve been blossoming - no pun intended - since we got my diagnosis.

I’ve been with my foster family since mid March and they’ve gotten to know my preferences and see me grow. I am looking for a forever home where I can be your playmate, cuddle mate, and all around best friend. I am the full package - handsome, smart as a whip, walk beautifully on leash, have impeccable manners at the door, and am housebroken. I love to play ball and carry around my stuffie toys, but I also have a fantastic chillax mode. I can’t get enough love and affection and am the perfect gentleman in the car and meeting new folks.

My life before foster did not give me confidence with other animals, and while I am currently in a home with another dog, I need more time to overcome my fears of having another dog in my personal space, so I’m recommended to be your only. My confidence is growing every day with daily morning walks, playtime in the yard, and I’m easily redirected in situations that are a little too much for me right now.

My perfect family is one that will continue my training and create an environment that allows me to build trust slowly with things that are unfamiliar or scary. Did I mention how much I love people?
