Murray's Story

I've got a lot of personality, and I don't always keep it quiet.

My name is Murray, and I've been here since 1/06/2026 after coming from Animal Friends of the Valley. When I first come into a space, I can be a little loud about it. I've got opinions, I've got energy, and I like to announce my arrival. But once I settle in, you'll see a much more social, easygoing side of me come through.

With other dogs, I'm actually pretty capable. I hang out, I play, and I know how to communicate clearly. If another dog is being too much, I'll speak up about it, and if I'm asked to move on, I can do that too. I've shown that I can take direction and disengage when needed, even in more intense moments. I don't hold onto things once they're over either. I bounce back quickly and get right back to enjoying myself.

That said, I do get worked up sometimes, especially around barriers or when the energy around me gets high. In those moments, I can get louder and more amped, and that's where I need someone to step in and help me reset. When I have that guidance, I respond well and settle back down.

With people, I'm engaged and interactive. I'm not a sit-back-and-watch kind of dog, I like to be part of what's going on. I'll do best with someone who can match my energy while still giving me clear direction.

My energy is on the higher side, especially at the start, but it evens out once I've had a chance to move around and get comfortable.

What I need most is someone who understands that I'm not trying to be a problem, I just have a lot going on and sometimes need help channeling it. When I'm guided well, I show just how social and adaptable I can be.

If you're looking for a dog with personality, resilience, and the ability to bounce back and keep going, come meet me. I think we'll have a good time together.
