Murphy's Story

Hi, my name is Murphy. I’m an older gentleman who has fully earned my “grumpy old man” title—but in the most endearing way. With age comes wisdom, and I’m very clear about my boundaries. I give clear signals when I’m uncomfortable, and I do best when those signals are respected.

I do have some history, which means I need a home that understands me. I’m looking to be the only pet, and I’m not suited for a home with children. In the right, calm environment, I’m truly a good dog. I’m housebroken, walk nicely on a leash, and I’m a quiet, low-key guy who enjoys peace and routine.

I’m not asking for much—just a patient, experienced person who will let me be myself and give me the calm retirement home I deserve. I’ve been in the shelter far too long, and I’m ready to finally rest my paws somewhere safe and familiar.
