Muffin's Story

WELCOME TO CAMP COCKER RESCUE, MUFFIN!

*Muffin is being fostered in Los Angeles County

MUFFIN is a sweet Cocker mix female, rescued from the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Center on January 15, 2025.

MUFFIN is an exceptionally sweet Cocker-mix girl, estimated* to be about 7 years old. She’s cuddly, snuggly, affectionate, loves to go on walks, and loves to be near her people! She’s house trained - and she's cat-friendly!

In early March, Muffin started a three-week trial with potential adopters. Muffin was an affectionate companion to the family, and enjoyed time with the children, but she also exhibited signs of serious separation anxiety when the adult with whom she bonded most closely was not available. Although there was a resident cat in the house, the cat was uninterested in becoming Muffin’s companion. There were no other dogs. Due to the stress caused by Muffin's separation anxiety, the family decided that their situation was not a good fit for her, so they did not adopt.

Muffin is currently in a foster home with two stable resident dogs. In this situation, Muffin has exhibited few signs of separation anxiety. She may look for her preferred family member when that person leaves, but with other calm dogs in the house, she quickly settles down. She also enjoys regular walks which allow her to explore the world and help her to work off some of her energy.

Given what we’ve learned about Muffin’s temperament, we believe she would be best placed in a home with at least one other stable dog to help acclimate her to the rhythms of a new household. She doesn’t necessarily seek a playmate in this dog, rather companionship so that she doesn’t feel abandoned when her people are not available.

*Please note that any age provided is only an estimate, based on veterinary examination.

>>> CAMP COCKER RECOMMENDS: For current status, updates, photos, videos & details about Muffin, please visit her webpage at www.campcocker.com/muffin - and follow our social media.

Muffin is being fostered in Southern California

APPLY TO ADOPT MUFFIN at www.campcocker.com/muffin

#CampCockerMuffin

For more Camp Cocker dogs visit www.campcocker.com/available-dogs
