Ms. Blue is a five year old female Shar Pei with a soft blue grey coat, a serious set of wrinkles, and no idea at all how dignified she looks.<br/><br/>She came to us as an owner surrender, so we know something about the life she had before. She belonged to an elderly woman who could no longer care for her, which means Ms. Blue has never known anything but a good home, and it shows in everything she does. She is house broken, spayed, and microchipped, and she had a dental and good blood work earlier this year. She walks into a room, greets whoever is standing in it, and settles. Her first day at the shelter did not rattle her, and she likes every person she meets.<br/><br/>For a dog who just lost the only person she has ever had, she is remarkably easy company. There is no unlearning to do with her and no bad habits to undo. She asks for a soft place to land and people who want her around, and that is about the whole list. She has spent her whole life keeping one person company and she would like to do it again.<br/><br/>A few honest things before you apply. Ms. Blue does best in a home where someone is around most of the day. For the times you do head out, a heavy duty crate works well for her, and we will send one home with you. Bonus points if you already know the breed and do not mind a little wrinkle care.<br/><br/>Ms. Blue can share a home with another dog, as long as it is a dog who gives her space when she asks for it. A calm housemate who does his own thing suits her. A dog who wants a constant playmate is not the right fit. She spent a recent adoption event in a crowd of children and was wonderful with every one of them, and she has been around the cats in our cat room with no trouble at all.
