Mr. Pickles is vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed, neutered, microchipped with lifetime registration to the rescue, heartworm negative and is on monthly prevention.

Mr. Pickles was at animal control and I asked to see him when I went to pick up a minpin. He was a little chihuahua, super scared and aggressive towards the staff. So, I decided to bail him out as well. They thought that he was neutered. But we didn't find a scar and he had an umbilical hernia that needed surgical repair. So, the vet went hunting for testes as well. He was in fact cryptorchid and needed to be neutered. With all of that medical stuff going on of course he was a grumpy little guy while not feeling well.

He's a good little man now, sweet and playful. Likes to snuggle and be held or be carried as well as is pretty confident on leash and likes walks and LOVES car rides and will talk in excitement. He's in a play group with other chihuahuas and smaller minpins, well tempered with them. Some of the larger minpins have a high prey drive and they think that he looks too much like a little rat.

He would be ok as an only dog getting all the snuggles or with other small dogs or even kitties that were nice. Due to his size, he would be best with only older kids that understand to be gentle.

After the application is processed and approved, a home visit and meet and greet with the dogs will be scheduled. If there are any fencing issues, make sure that repairs are done prior to the home visit. Typically, the adoption is finalized the day after the home visit and meet and greet. Out of area adopters would need to drive/fly in to meet the dogs and adopt.
