Mr. Happy Gary (Boji)'s Story

From My Heart — Gary’s Story

Hi there, my name is Gary, but my friends also call me Boji. I’m a 2½-year-old Lab/Saluki mix — 55 pounds of sweetness, soul, and quiet courage.

I am neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and ready for adoption in Vancouver, BC and can travel to anywhere in WA or OR if there is a potential adopter for me. My adoption fee is $600USD.

Adoption Application Link: https://forms.gle/v3pZu61Vk7b47uTc9
(If not clickable, copy & paste into your browser)

Here is my story:

Life hasn’t always been kind to me, but I’ve never stopped believing in love. One day, I was found injured and unable to walk — most likely hit by a car. It was a scary time, but I refused to give up, and thankfully, neither did my rescuers.

After surgery and lots of care, something incredible happened — I began to walk again! Each day I grow stronger and more confident, enjoying every step as I feel the ground beneath my paws once more.

People say I’m one of the happiest dogs they’ve ever met. I wag my tail constantly, adore food (it’s my favorite thing ever!), and have the gentlest heart. My mission in life is simple: to love you, to make you laugh, and to remind you what gratitude looks like.

I get along beautifully with other dogs and have a calm, easygoing nature. I’ve never shown aggression — only affection. I haven’t met cats or kids yet, but I’m such a gentle soul that, with slow introductions, I’d likely do just fine.

Right now, I spend most of my time indoors while I continue to regain my strength, but I dream of open spaces, easy walks, car rides with the windows down, and cozy naps beside someone I love. I dream of belonging.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who has already learned how precious life and love truly are… I’m your boy. I don’t need perfection — just kindness, patience, and someone who will cheer me on as I continue to get stronger every day.

I’ve come such a long way, and now I’m ready for my next big step — finding my forever home. Could that be with you?

With love and hope,
Gary (Boji)

Nowruz Animal Rescue Group's Adoption Policy
Our Foster-to-Adopt Process At Nowruz Animal Rescue Group, we follow a foster-to-adopt process to ensure that each pet and family are a perfect match for one another. This approach allows both the dog and the adoptive family to adjust and bond before making a lifelong commitment. Step 1: Application Once a pet is listed for adoption, interested families are invited to fill out an online application form. This form includes: Three personal references The name of the veterinarian who will care for the pet Step 2: Application Review & Phone Chat After reviewing the application, we contact strong candidates for a phone interview. This gives us a chance to get to know the family better and answer any initial questions. Step 3: Home Check If the phone conversation goes well, we arrange a home check to ensure the living environment is safe and suitable for the specific pet. Step 4: Meet & Greet Next, we schedule a meet and greet with the dog and the family—either at the home or a secure, neutral location. One or two meetings may be arranged so everyone, especially the pet, has time to feel comfortable. During this time, we also complete reference checks. Step 5: Foster-to-Adopt Trial If the family decides to move forward, the dog begins a foster-to-adopt trial period. We deliver the pet to their new home along with essentials such as: Collar and leash Food and treats Favorite toys We encourage families to stay in touch throughout the transition. If you need support or guidance, we are just a phone call away.
