🎩 WELCOME MORT! 🎩<br/>Okay, who ordered the distinguished gentleman?<br/>He’s a handsome stray who landed at DuPage County Animal Services looking like he should be sitting in a leather chair, reading the Tribune and complaining about property taxes. 😂<br/>Mort quickly caught the eye of one of our volunteers who also volunteers at DuPage.<br/>And you know how this crap goes.<br/>“Have you met Mort?”<br/>“You NEED to meet Mort.”<br/>“JUST LOOK AT HIM.”<br/>Fine.<br/>We looked.<br/>Sonofabitch. Now we need Mort. 🙄😂<br/>Except there was that pesky little detail we’re always dealing with...<br/>WHERE ARE WE PUTTING HIM?<br/>And this is where some good old-fashioned rescue magic happened. ✨<br/>A couple who already foster with us also participate in DuPage’s Fetch a Friend program. They started taking Mort out for little field trips and giving him some much-needed time away from the shelter.<br/>They took him out once.<br/>Then again.<br/>And apparently Mort spent those outings quietly working his little scam because next thing we know, we get:<br/>“We want to foster him.”<br/>Nobody move. Nobody say anything. GET THE PAPERWORK. 😂<br/>And just like that, the dog we already knew we wanted had himself a foster home.<br/>Sometimes rescue is begging, pleading and moving 97 pieces around to make ONE damn thing work.<br/>And sometimes the universe throws you a bone.<br/>From stray...to Fetch a Friend...to one of ours.<br/>Nicely played, sir. Nicely played.<br/>All good things from here.

Chi-Town Pitties, Inc's Adoption Policy
The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application (applicant must be at least 23 years of age). Once your application is received a volunteer will contact you to discuss your application. All references listed will be contacted, along with a call to your veterinarian to make sure your current/former pets are/were up to date on all vaccinations. We also complete a background check and home visit will be performed. Once all that is complete, and application is approved, we will arrange meet and greets with our adoptables that may be a good fit for your family and lifestyle. If a perfect match is found, an adoption contract will need to be signed, along with an adoption fee.
