Morris's Story
Meet Morris — the ultimate comeback story!

3 years
72 lbs

Morris is a 3-year-old, 72-pound sweetheart who truly believes he’s a lap dog — and honestly, we don’t have the heart to tell him otherwise. He’s a gentle, low-to-medium energy boy who loves walks, hikes, and snuggling up afterward for a long nap.

Morris’s story is nothing short of incredible. He came to us all the way from South Carolina, where he was heartbreakingly close to being put down — simply for being a pit bull, heartworm positive, and blind. But thanks to an amazing foster family who refused to give up on him, Morris got the second chance he deserved. He’s since completed his heartworm treatment, had an eye removal surgery, and is now healthy, happy, and ready for his forever home.

He’s house trained, crate trained, and treat motivated, and loves toys (especially ones that make noise!). He’s even great at fetch using balls with bells so he can track them by sound. Despite limited vision, Morris quickly learned to navigate his surroundings and now moves confidently around his home and yard.

Morris does well with other dogs and is good with cats, though he sometimes likes to chase the one in his foster home, so it may depend on the cats in his new family. He’s a big, lovable lug of a dog and may be too much for small kiddos, so a home with older, dog-savvy children would be best.

This resilient, goofy, affectionate boy has overcome so much and is finally ready to find the family who’ll love him for the incredible dog he is.

Interested in adopting?
