Morgan's Story
Where do we start with Morgan? Her second chance at life has been a team effort spanning over several months. Last summer, in the brutal heat, we saw Morgan in the streets. She would appear in the evenings, trotting by with a few other dogs. Unable to catch her, we always hoped for the best. Then, months later, in January, we spotted a VERY pregnant Morgan. Within 24 hours, Morgan was humanely trapped, just a mere hours after giving birth on a cold winter evening. Morgan has since been in a few different foster homes, each one allowing her to the space and love to find confidence and experience happiness. The last few month, Morgan has been with her foster family, which includes a fur foster sibling. The following is from Morgans foster mom: <br/><br/>"Morgan is a great dog! She has been through a lot and it shows but she is so special. It takes her time, maybe more than others, to relax and be comfortable. But as she is able to decompress and get comfortable, the dog she is meant to be comes out little by little. Morgan is in the older puppy stage and definitely has a lot of Labrador traits! She is full of energy, rambunctious, silly, curiuos and a lot of fun. She loves to play with all her stuffed toys and she is obsessed with watching out windows. She gets along well and loves to play with other dogs, but she is not fond of cats. Her play is normal for a dog her age and size but can be too much for an older dog that can no longer keep up. She is very protective of her home and her people. She has so much energy that she could be a great running or hiking partner when she gets more comfortable and confident on a leash and just being out in the world. She is definitely scared of anything new and hates the vacuum but gets used to things the more she hears them (except the vacuum). Morgan is going to be someone’s best friend given the time, patience and love that is needed to help her heal and become who she is truly meant to be."<br/><br/>Morgan is approximately three years old.
