Moose's Story

We get many calls and see many things on Facebook. On Facebook a few years back, a lady posted she had left her house and left her dog in the backyard with food and water. But she will not be returning and someone needs to get the dog.

My foster and another person raced over. The dog had no water or food and with this heat this was clear animal abuse, but of course the lady was out of state by now.

The other person kept him to foster under us. We got him neutered and they decided to keep Moose. He just fit in.

So imagine my surprise when I received a call about Moose. Kids were playing, adult's were around but not right there. The child brought Blue out on a leash, something happened we don't know what, but a child was slightly injured. From the injury it's not believed to be Blue, but because the police were called and Moose can't talk the police said Blue needs to go.

Moose is a gentle giant. As a rescue this breaks my heart. This was his forever home. He doesn't need to be up-rooted. He has a stable home.

Normally when an adopter reaches out and it's about a bite, we do put down. But after never showing aggression ever and now this, I tend to believe it was not Blue. So I have agreed to list him and put him with older kids and or a small kid free house.

From the adopter:

Loving Home Needed

It breaks my heart to make this post, but due to recent circumstances, I am looking for a new home for my beloved 3-year-old mixed-breed dog.

He is neutered and has been a wonderful companion. He loves chew toys, hiding bones around the house, going for car rides, and taking walks. He is not a high-energy dog and is happiest lounging around the house with his people, soaking up love and attention.

He has been around other dogs, cats, and chickens and has done well with them. He truly just wants to be loved and part of a family.

I want to be completely transparent with potential adopters. There was a recent incident involving a child that resulted in an injury and has led us to make the difficult decision to find him a new home. This is the first incident of this nature that we have experienced with him. Because of this, I believe he would do best in an adult-only home or a home without young children.

This decision has been incredibly difficult for our family, and we are committed to finding the right fit rather than the first available home. We are looking for someone who can provide a safe, loving, and stable environment where he can thrive.

If you are interested in learning more about him, please send me a private message. Serious inquiries only, please. His future happiness and well-being are our top priority.

Moose will need a fenced in yard.

An approved application and an appointment is required.

If interested in meeting Moose, please submit an application by copying/pasting this link into your browser: He is located in Centralia, WA

https://rescueaware.com/application.asp?c=12001
