Moose's Story
Are you looking for a one and only one pet? I’m Moose, and I have been waiting at the shelter for, umm, let’s see, I started to lose count…over three years. I was adopted out in October of 2020 and returned in July of 2021.

Don’t feel sorry for me. The volunteers love me. I probably hear the excited shrill, “MOOSE!” at least five times a day. I live to play fetch, and there are many volunteers that are willing to throw the ball. I have my routine down- trust me- I have had literally years of the same routine. I guess we could count that as a strength, right? Knows routine.

Anyways, fetch is my favorite activity. I am very motivated by it, and it helps time pass. I am very attentive as I wait for the ball to launch.

I was born in January of 2019. I am listed as a lab mix. I’m a big, sturdy guy.

I’m dog selective, so the folks here let adopters know that I shouldn’t be adopted with other dogs in the home, and cats are a NO too.

Call or email the shelter if you would like know more about me. My adoption fee has been reduced to fifty dollars. Over the years, people have contributed to my adoption fee. There are a lot of great people around here.

Well, I think I just heard someone yell, “MOOSE!” I guess I will entertain the volunteer with a game of fetch. *They really have to twist my arm for this.

I’m the first kennel in the big dog room, just in case you plan on popping over during adoption hours to take a look. Don’t worry - I’ve been passed over for years. I’m used to it, but I’m still holding onto hope that someone will choose me…

Later-
Moose!

The ARK
477 State Route 26
Lacon, IL
309-246-4275
https://thearkanimalshelter.org/adopt/available-cats/

Visiting Hours
Mon-Fri 12-2
Sat 11-3
Thurs 5-8 p.m.
