Moose's Story

Moose is an adorable 8-month-old German Shepherd who is looking for a family of his very own! This sweet boy is understandably a little nervous in the shelter, but we’re giving him the time and space he needs to settle in and show us his true personality. He seems to LOVE people and enjoys going out on his walks! Moose arrived with Manny, but these boys will need to be adopted separately so Moose can have the opportunity to grow and thrive as his own dog. Moose is currently awaiting his behavioral evaluation, so we’re still learning more about how he feels about other dogs, cats, kids, and all the other things that come with being a family dog. As we learn more about him, we’ll update his profile!
German Shepherd experience preferred, but not mandatory. German Shepherds are intelligent, active working dogs who thrive when they have a job to do!
Moose will need daily physical and mental enrichment, plenty of stimulation, and continued training to help him grow into a happy, well-rounded adult dog. Puppy classes and ongoing positive-reinforcement training are highly encouraged!
Moose has so much potential, and we can’t wait to watch his confidence grow as he gets more comfortable! Check back with Dessin for updates as Moose completes his evaluation! Accepting early applications.

Dessin Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy
Adoption: You need to submit an adoption application. The link is below. Once approved, we'll schedule an appointment. Spay and neuter: No pet gets adopted without being spayed or neutered. We're part of the solution to the pet overpopulation problem. Ten point behavioral assessment: A formal, ten point behavioral assessment is conducted on each dog to attempt to identify aggression or behavior problems, as well as to learn about the dog's personality. This helps us determine the best type of home for each dog/puppy.
