Moose's Story

Loaded with personality, Chocolate 18 month old Moose is, according to his foster mom, about the sweetest and smartest Lab around. Not only does this shiny 75 pound boy know his basic commands, but he’s learned to tell his left paw from his right. If you put a treat on each paw and say “left” or “right” he’ll choose correctly! Moose is currently a bit on the thin side, but that doesn’t detract from his handsome physique and big classic Lab blocky head.

Moose is house trained and pretty good on the leash, but he’s so happy to see you he can’t resist jumping up and planting a kiss. Since he’s such a pleaser, he’ll soon learn that most people prefer a more gentile “four on the floor” greeting. Moose loves to play and loves the company of dogs at home and at the park. He’s always ready for a game of fetch and is a water loving Lab too – baths are great and he’ll even create his own water park around his bowl. When it comes to toys, he’s pretty hard on the soft ones. His foster mom tells us, “He always looks so proud of his mess!”

“I fell in love with Moose right away,” his foster mom reports. “He loves to be everywhere you are -- doesn’t matter if you’re on the computer or cooking in the kitchen. He’s just a curious busybody who has to know what you’re doing! Moose is so attentive to everything going on. He loves to watch TV and either lay his head in my lap or try to lay all of himself across me. I’d describe him as affectionate, well adjusted, curious and a ‘genius dog’!”

Moose is a good boy in the house and respects your things. No chewing or rearranging your personal possessions for this guy. While Moose might sound almost perfect, and he is of course, he admits he’s a counter surfer. “I just gotta see what’s up there!” exclaims curious Moose. With a little more training and a few more needed pounds, this will soon be a thing of the past. That is, unless you need some help making dinner!

If you’re looking for a handsome, intelligent goofy character of a Lab who knows his left paw from his right and a Lab who wants and needs to be a big part of your life, Moose hopes you’ll fill out an application soon. “By the way, that’s M-O-O-S-E”, smiles this lovable guy.
