Moose's Story

Meet Moose — The Sweetest Girl Who’s So Ready for Her Real Forever Home

Moose is a 50‑lb, 4‑year‑old cuddlebug who has been through far more than any dog should. She’s landed in the shelter three times as a stray, and the last time she was scheduled for euthanasia simply because they were out of space. But this girl is a fighter with a huge heart now she’s safe, loved, and finally ready for the home she’s always deserved.

Moose is incredibly snuggly, affectionate, and people‑oriented. Morning or night, she’ll curl up as close as physically possible and melt into you. She’s been working hard on her manners — especially her “I love you so much I must jump into your arms” enthusiasm — and she responds beautifully to gentle correction.

Moose plays well with dogs. She respects boundaries, and has done wonderfully on playdates and dog‑park settings. She’s medium‑energy: happy to romp and chase, then happy to snooze for hours. Moose has a strong prey drive and shouldn’t live with cats.

Moose is fully house‑trained — zero accidents, crate‑trained — cries a bit at first, then settles and sleeps through the night. She does great in a secure, fenced yard. Moose is working her on leash skills, but she’ll need someone who will stay alert outdoors. She has a strong interest in squirrels and may try to follow them if they make a sudden appearance. She hasn’t been tested with kids yet, but nothing in her behavior raises concerns.

Moose is the kind of dog who just wants to love and be loved. After everything she’s survived, she deserves a family who will keep her safe, keep her close, and never let her slip through the cracks again. She’s loyal, snuggly, silly, and so ready for her forever.
