Moon's Story
Meet Moon!

Moon is a sweet, affectionate 2.5 year old Terrier/Pitty who is happiest when she’s with her people. Born in January 2024, Moon is a medium-sized girl weighing 26–50 pounds. She may need a little time to get acquainted and feel comfortable with new people, but once she knows you, her affectionate personality truly shines. She loves a good belly rub and enjoys spending time outside in the sunshine, going for daily walks, and looking out the window to watch the world go by.

Moon is house trained and crate trained, knows several commands, and is currently working on going to her place on her cot and staying there. She is not food aggressive, although she can be food motivated, especially when strangers are around. Moon gets along well with other dogs, including dogs a little smaller or larger than she is, both in the house and backyard. When out on walks, she is curious about other dogs but may sometimes feel the need to protect herself.

Moon can be an only dog or live happily with other dogs. She does best with a predictable routine and a family willing to give her the time she needs to adjust and build trust. Moon is an early riser, usually ready to start her day around 6:45 a.m., and is ready to wind down for the night around 9:00 p.m.

Moon recently visited the vet due to some digestive issues and is currently eating Hill’s Prescription Diet Digestive Care Low Fat. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will become incredibly loving once she knows you, Moon may be the perfect girl to welcome into your family.

To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt. It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
