Moo's Story
Meet Moo!

She's a small to medium pittie who was picked up as a stray with her possible sibling, Maple, in Texas. Her and her sister were rescued from a high kill shelter, where they had been slated to be euthanized the following day, and brought to Simsbury. Her and her sibling had been very close to each other when they first arrived, but after a couple of weeks, they decided they didn't want to be together anymore, and now have to be kept separated, and cannot be adopted together.

Moo is a little over a year old, and fully grown at close to 40lbs. Just like her sister, she knows how to sit on command, to sit nicely for her food, and to sit and wait to be told "let's go" before heading outside (which can still be a challenge for her). Overall, she walks politely on a leash, and can be fabulous to walk at night or early in the morning when there aren't any distractions. She is working on ignoring distractions when it is light out, as the sight of squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks or other dogs can make her want to pull and lunge. She is learning "leave it", "look at me", and to stay in "place" without having to be told to. She's crate trained, and will go nicely in there when it's time. She LOVES people, and is very affectionate. She has been great with older kids, but can be pretty energetic when playing, so might be too much for young children. She does love to play fetch with a ball and run around in the yard, chew and chew on hard rubber toys, and go out on walks, but really loves to snuggle in with people on the couch when given the chance. She is extremely happy to have someone to sleep next to when they're on the couch watching a movie or reading a book in the evening. She is very sweet and silly, loves to give kisses, and is eager to explore the world. She is not a fan of other dogs, and would do best as an only dog.

Moo will need some time and patience to get used to her new home. She'll need more work on ignoring distractions when out for a walk during the day. She is eager to please, though, and just wants to be around her humans. To help with adjustment to a new home, one free in-home training session with our trainer, Outrider Dogs, will be included, provided her new home is relatively close to the area. Her crate, bedding, and toys can also be included if desired.

If you are interested in adopting Moo, please fill out an application on our website, www.outriderdogsrescue.com. Your application will be sent to the current owners for review and you will be reached out to if it’s a good fit!

Thank you for choosing adoption!
Outrider Dogs Rescue
