Momo's Story

**Meet Momo: Your Resilient and Playful Sidekick!**
*Female | Shar Pei/Pit Mix | 11 Months | 49 lbs*

Momo’s story is one of strength and resilience. When we found her at the shelter, she was facing euthanasia—suffering from painful entropion in both eyes, severely underweight, and missing much of her fur. Despite it all, Momo greeted us with a gentle, hopeful spirit, and we knew we couldn’t leave her behind.

Since then, Momo has blossomed. After successful eye surgery, her bright, expressive eyes now light up with joy, and her coat is growing back beautifully. Every day, her playful, affectionate nature shines through, reminding us just how resilient and loving she truly is.

One of Momo’s most endearing qualities is how quickly she forms bonds. She’s the kind of dog who makes friends wherever she goes—whether it’s the vet staff after just a day or the trainers after a single session, Momo has a way of weaving herself into people’s hearts. Her affectionate, people-oriented nature means that she embraces new experiences and places with an open heart, always eager to connect and be part of the moment.

Momo is an affectionate and loyal companion who bonds deeply with her person. She loves being close, always wanting to be part of whatever you’re doing. While she craves connection, she also benefits from a balance of love and structure. In her foster home, consistent routines and gentle guidance have helped her feel secure and more independent, allowing her to confidently explore new environments.

She’s incredibly smart and eager to please, making her a quick learner. Momo already knows how to “sit” (often before you even ask!) and will happily go into her crate with just a point. She’s house-trained and steadily improving her manners, including her tendency to jump when she’s excited.

Playful and social, Momo enjoys interacting with other dogs of all sizes. Her play style is flexible—sometimes she’s the leader, other times she’s more submissive. Regardless, she would thrive with a dog buddy who shares her love of play. Momo’s lively energy is balanced by her desire to connect, and she’s learning to manage her enthusiasm while also growing more confident and independent.

Her ideal home would be a single-family house with a yard where she can play and explore. An active person or family who can provide love, structure, and consistent training would be perfect for her. Since Momo can be a bit too enthusiastic when giving kisses or greeting people, we recommend a home without young children (teenagers or adults only).

Momo has a heart full of love and potential—she just needs a family who will help her continue to mature into the dog she’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a resilient, playful companion who will brighten your days, Momo is ready to meet you!

We verify references for our fosters and volunteers to make sure our rescued animals have the best care while waiting for their forever homes. Likewise, we ask any potential adopter fill out and submit our adoption application prior to scheduling a meet and greet with a pet in a foster home. This does not obligate you to adopt, but it is the first step towards being added to our approved list of adopters. Applicants are approved pending vet reference and personal reference checks, and a home visit. All current animals in the home must be spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccines as well as heartworm and flea prevention and any information provided on an application will be verified. Thank you for your patience with our process! We are grateful you are looking to adopt your next pet.
