Mommastrone's Story

Introducing Mommastrone (our fun twist on Minestrone), a gentle little mama with the sweetest soul.

Mommastrone is likely a Chihuahua mix and is already fully grown at about 15 pounds. She was rescued from the Palmdale shelter extremely pregnant and out of options. Just two days after arriving safely in our care, she delivered five tiny “soups” on October 15th. Now that her puppies are grown and thriving in their own homes, it’s finally Mommastrone’s turn to be someone’s baby.

She is truly a kind, loving girl just very skittish at first. She is not mean in the slightest and has never shown any desire to bite. Her timid nature simply comes from low confidence, not a lack of sweetness. Once she feels safe, she is gentle, affectionate, and happy to quietly keep you company. She does wonderfully with calm kids, other dogs, and even cats. In fact, she may do best in a home with another confident dog to help show her the ropes and boost her confidence.

We can only imagine what she experienced before being left at the shelter while very pregnant, but despite it all, she remains soft and trusting. She has slowly been coming out of her shell in foster care and continues to blossom each day.

Mommastrone is spayed, vaccinated, and ready to start her next chapter. At around 15 pounds, she is the perfect small companion — happy to lounge, follow you from room to room, and simply exist by your side.

She would thrive with a patient adopter who understands shy dogs and is willing to give her the time and reassurance she needs to fully feel safe. A calm home, gentle guidance, and maybe a confident dog friend would help this beautiful mama truly shine.

If you’re looking for a tiny, warm-hearted companion who just wants to belong, Mommastrone may be your girl.
