Though occasionally we do end up with a purebred surrender, our adopters will tell you that our Southern mutts are the best dogs they've ever had! Sweet Paws Rescue does not operate as a traditional animal shelter. There are three ways to adopt from us: 1. Commit to a dog that has not yet transported to Massachusetts—in other words, adopting a dog before meeting [him/her] in person. Because we have a unique Foster2AdoptTM program for all of our adoptions, there is a two-week trial period to ensure you've made a love connection with your new pup. 2. Meet one of our dogs being fostered in Massachusetts—and take them from foster to forever! 3. Attend one of our meet & greet events held throughout the year at various locations on the north shore of Massachusetts. Pre-approved adopters that find your match can take your new pup home from the event! Regardless of what approach is best for you, the process always starts with submitting an application. Too many dogs end up in shelters or back in rescue because their humans were not prepared for the commitment and responsibility of a dog. Before filling out an application, please evaluate your ability to train, exercise, and care for, financially and otherwise, for the span of your dog's lifetime. Their life depends on it!
