Meet MAIA! She is a 55#, 8-year-old PitBull/American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is very sweet. Her short black coat is accented with white patches, and her ears stand up like Anubis!<br/><br/>*** PITBULL TERRIER EXPERIENCE PREFERRED***<br/><br/>Volunteer favorite Momma Maia is gentle, loving, smart, and cuddly! She is timid with new people, but warms up quickly with calm movements and praise. She enjoys walks, trail walks, yard play, fetch, tug, and is doggy door trained. She loaded up nicely in the van, and rode well. Maia is also treat motivated, loves fruit, people are her passion, and she picks up on people needing comfort. She is a great companion and family dog. Maia will need continued training with basic commands, and leash manners. Maia is very strong, and a very active family would be her best fit<br/><br/>Should children be in the home 13+, kind and dog savvy are best. Maia has not lived successfully with other dogs, and she is not a fan of cats. She would like to be the Queen of her castle. Having a family member home most of the time would be ideal for her. A secure fenced yard is required to keep her safe and happy, as she has been know to escape from an unsecured and unsupervised yard.<br/><br/>If you have any other questions, email is the best method of communication.
