Molson's Story
🐾 Meet Molson 🐾.

Molson is a 5-month-old German Shepherd x Border Collie mix (best guess!) with a bright mind and an even brighter spirit.
Recently returned to us after being diagnosed with Neospora, a parasite that has affected one of his hind legs, Molson is currently on a long-term treatment plan. While we’re hopeful for continued improvement, there is a possibility that amputation may be necessary in 2–3 months if his leg does not respond as we hope.

But here’s what really matters…
You would barely know anything is wrong.
Molson is happy. Playful. Engaged. Curious. He has that busy, brilliant working-dog brain that wants to learn, problem-solve, and be part of the action. He doesn’t need to live like a medical case — he needs to live like a puppy.
He’s good with other dogs, full of energy, incredibly intelligent, and will absolutely thrive with someone who enjoys working breeds and understands how to channel that smart, active brain.

🏡 What Molson Needs
Because Molson may require future medical treatment or surgery, we are looking for:
• A committed adoptive home within reasonable driving distance of St. Thomas, Ontario (all ongoing Neospora-related care will take place with our veterinary partners there to ensure continuity of care)
• A family with children old enough to be calm and respectful during recovery periods (ideally 8–10 years and up)
• Someone who can provide structure, training, enrichment, and confidence-building
• A home prepared to manage his activity appropriately while he heals
This is a slow and steady journey — but you will not be doing it alone.
If Molson requires continued care related to Neospora, those costs remain with us. We will support his adopter every step of the way.

💰 Adoption Fee: $500 (reduced due to his medical journey)
This adoption fee includes:
• His future neuter
• All medical care related to Neospora treatment
• Physical therapy if required
• Surgery if required
• Ongoing veterinary support from our team

Because of his unique medical situation, we have reduced his adoption fee to help find the right committed home while ensuring his adopter is fully supported.
Molson is not a project. He is a promise.
With patience, consistency, and love, he could grow into an absolutely incredible companion. And even if his journey eventually leads to life on three legs, dogs like Molson prove every day that mobility does not define joy.

Let’s give this kid the normal puppyhood he still absolutely deserves.
📩 Apply to adopt Molson:
https://form.jotform.com/243494963032258

💛 What’s Included in Every Myrtle Animal Rescue & Sanctuary Adoption?
We are committed to ethical rescue and lifelong support.
