Molly's Story

Hi all!

I am (best guess) a Shepherd/Hound/Husky Mix weighing 55 pounds, and came to Safe Haven as a transfer from another shelter. I am happy to meet new people and I can get jumpy at times, but am usually pretty gentle. I like running and checking out everyone and everything here at the shelter, you could call me curious. I just want to see everything and go exploring. I respond well to treats and praise, I will sit even before being asked in hopes of getting a treat. I would probably do very well in a home with another dog to show me how to behave and I really like children over 6 years old. I have met some kids at the shelter and they get showered with kisses, I love everyone I have met here at the shelter.

I graduated from basic obedience training on January 14th, if you come for a visit I usually do all my tricks at once, so please be patient with me. I do need to work on "stay" but will cooperate with "sit" and "leave it" commands.

I have been told I look small in my pictures, here is a Facebook video of me in training class so you can see my size and how good I am.

If you are interested in adopting this adorable 1 year old girl, please FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION on our website www.safehavenforpets.org. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 815-858-2265 or email us atsafehaven1471@gmail.com.

Dog adoption donations are $200 which includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, Heartworm test, Lyme test, Bordetella, flea & tick preventative, heartworm prevention, deworming, and microchip.

Please visit our website www.safehavenforpets.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Safe Haven's Adoption Policy
Once someone picks out a cat or a dog they would like to adopt from us, we ask them to fill out an adoption application on our website www.safehavenforpets.org. After the application is reviewed (within 1 to 2 business days) we will try to contact the applicant by calling or emailing them. If the adoption is approved, we will then try to set up a day and time that the adopters can come to the shelter to pick up their new pet! At that time we will have the new owners sign some paperwork and provide us with the adoption donation fee. The adoption donation fee for a dog is $200. The adoption donation fee for a cat is $75.
