Sadly, life took a heartbreaking turn for her family—one of her beloved humans passed away and the other entered hospice care. Through no fault of her own, Molly lost the only home she had ever known.<br/><br/>She has been with the rescue since September 5, trying to learn how to navigate a completely different world.<br/><br/>That’s a lot for any dog.<br/><br/>Molly will be turning 8 this May, and after spending nearly her entire life with one family, the transition has been hard for her. Because of this, Molly does struggle with anxiety, and she is currently on a daily medication (fluoxetine) which has been helping her tremendously. Like many dogs working through anxiety, she has good days and tougher days, but she continues to try very hard to be the best girl she can be.<br/><br/>Molly does best with slow introductions and needs time to settle in at her own pace. She may seem unsure at first, but once she begins to trust you, her loving and loyal personality shines through.<br/><br/>Because of this, Molly is looking for a very patient and understanding home that will give her the time, space, and compassion she needs to feel safe again. A calm household with older, respectful kids or adults would be ideal for her.<br/><br/>She does well with other dogs and enjoys their companionship, but she would do best in a home without cats.<br/><br/>Molly isn’t a “plug-and-play” dog—but for the right family willing to give her patience and love, she has so much heart to give.
