Molly's Story
Meet Our Beautiful Mixed-Breed House Hippo

Almost two years ago, this sweet girl was found running the streets of the city. Her toenails were painfully overgrown, her feet were bleeding, and her skin was in terrible condition. She looked like a dog life had forgotten -- but she never once forgot how to smile.

Now, at almost 8 years old, she has spent far too long in a kennel. But she has not lost hope. In fact, our recent playgroups have brought out a whole new spark in her. She trots around the yard with her canine friends, soaking up the sun and reminding everyone that joy doesn't have an expiration date. She can be a little bossy with other dogs -- she is an older lady who knows what she likes -- but she's appropriate and social.

She weighs 65 pounds, is fully vetted, and is very obviously food motivated, which makes training fun and easy. She enjoys short adventures and would make a great low-key hiking buddy. She'd also be perfectly content with a fenced yard, a soft couch, and a person who loves her. She appears to be housebroken, too.

Cats might be okay, but out of caution, we believe a home with no indoor cats would be best.

Senior dogs don't belong in the shelter.
Not now. Not ever.

Her adoption fee is fully sponsored for the right person -- someone who sees her, truly sees her, and wants to give an old girl the soft landing she has earned a thousand times over.

Please, please, please... let's get her home before her 9th birthday. She's waited long enough.
