Molly's Story

Molly wants to be your one and only lap dog! This insecure little girl was surrendered to the dog shelter because her owner could no longer care for her. As if losing the only person she knew wasn't bad enough, we found a luxating patella (moving kneecap) on her medical exam that was quite uncomfortable for her and was painfully impacting her quality of life. Despite all her bad luck, Molly's luck has changed for the better thanks to Friends of the Shelter as they stepped up to fund the surgery she needed to correct her bad knee and she is now recovering in the safety and security of a foster home. Although not the only dog in her foster home, Molly has adjusted fairly well to being one of a pack of dogs but she tends to watch the others from afar instead of joining in and doesn't miss an opportunity to snuggle with her foster mom any time she can. While Molly's knee has now been stabilized, it had been unstable for years and so there is some minor arthritis that already exists in her knee which will require daily glucosamine supplements for all of her life to keep her joints well "oiled" and slow the progression of future arthritis changes. Molly is crate trained and housebroken. No kids under 12. She would be a great companion for a single or retired person who enjoys a lap dog. She is a good traveler too. Vet reference required. 2 1/2 years old, 6lbs
