Moe Bodie's Story
Meet Bodie (formerly Moe), a happy and friendly 112-year-old, 70-75 lb pup who is looking for his forever home.

If you are looking for a jogging or hiking partner, or a lovebug who wants to be close to you, or a protector with the bark of a 100lb dog, or a friend to go on car rides with... Bodie is all of these things rolled into one!

Bodie was originally cared for by an elderly woman who loved him dearly. He was raised around dogs and cats, and learns their boundaries very quickly. He is full of enthusiasm and loves making friends. He tends to be drawn to female energy, so can be shy and unsure around men at first; he will need a little patience while he learns that he is safe.

He enjoys playing with his toys and is not destructive in the home—although he may occasionally decide a slipper looks suspiciously like a toy or a good smell in the trash.

Because his previous caretaker did not have a yard, Bodie was originally taught to use potty pads. He has since done well in a foster home with a doggy door, so having regular access outside and a few walks a day has helped him tremendously.

Bodie is very smart! He learned to use the doggie door in 3 quick tries, has learned “wait,” “back-up,” understands “no thank you,” when enough kisses have been given, and he is well on his way to learning “sit,” as well.

We are also working on leash training. When he first got to his foster home, you would have thought he was a husky, always ready to pull. But with a gentle lead and a backpack (which will go with him to his new home), he is learning to show his best when out for a walk! He will need a forever home with patience and where his continued training will be a priority.

Because of his enthusiasm and exuberance, which just makes him even more loveable, he would do best in a home with larger dogs or older children. His foster also thinks he might have some greyhound in him; he runs off steam quickly then settles in for a good nap and calm behavior.

He eats his breakfast and dinner with enthusiasm. He also enjoys a “cookie” for dessert! We have Three Dog Bakery Puppy Butters and HEB Heritage Ranch Baked Dog Snacks – Peanut Butter & Banana! Everyone deserves a little dessert! He eats his meals in his crate, then waits patiently to be let out. He isn’t a fan of being crated for long periods. He would rather be shadowing you or sleeping in your nice cozy bed.

Bodie is simply a 70-75lb love bug...lap dog wannabe. He may still have a few things to learn about being a house dog, but he is smart, loving, and ready to learn. Most importantly, He will love you, will want to be close to you, and give you kisses...and for you to show him that you love him, too.

Adoption Application:
https://form.jotform.com/CLMR/TXAdoptApp
