Moe's Story

Meet Moe!
As CBAS volunteers, our favorite stories are the “glow ups”—especially those that happen right in our care.

Right now, one of those stories is unfolding before our eyes, and its protagonist is Moe. When Moe arrived 63 days ago on December 15, we could only speculate about his past.

What we could see was a dog who was completely shut down—he wouldn’t make eye contact, avoided touch, and flinched when you reached for him. It was as if he’d built armor around himself and couldn’t let anyone in.

But here’s where it gets good.

Over the past 63 days, Moe has transformed into a completely different dog. He wags his tail. He willingly gives kisses (slobbery ones, right on the mouth—check out the pics to see what we mean 🤪). He looks at you while you’re walking him, just to check in and say hi. And it’s all thanks to our amazing CBAS family, who has spent these past two months showing Moe that humans are safe and here to protect him 🩷

Moe’s quick facts:
🐾 A great medium size, weighing in at 53lbs
🐾 Listed as 5 years old & a pittie mix
🐾 Passed his assessment with other dogs; prefers to co-exist versus WWE-style wrestle
🐾 Takes treats gently
🐾 Knows basic commands
🐾 Feelings on kitties unknown

If you’re ready to help Moe write the next chapter in his glow-up story—the one where he finds his family and continues learning that humans can be kind—please consider adopting him.

You can meet him at CBAS anytime we’re open!
