MOCHA ROO's Story
Age: Approximately 11 years
Weight: 11 lbs
Location: Mississauga
Adoption donation: $450

Here’s Mocha Roo – this cutey is ready for adoption!
Mocha Roo is considered a senior dog, but don’t tell him that — he’s far too busy bouncing through life on his long legs, like a mini kangaroo. This spirited Chihuahua mix was transferred from a shelter in Quebec after being found as a stray, and now he’s ready to hop into his forever home!
Mocha has had a bit of a ‘glow-up’ from our veterinarian team since arriving — a major dental overhaul, diagnosis of nuclear sclerosis (mild eye cloudiness), and a patch of alopecia on his hind leg. He might also be a little hard of hearing… or maybe he’s just a world-class selective listener!
Despite his years, Mocha Roo is full of life and personality. He loves going for walks — nose to the ground, tail up, and determined to gleefully kick up grass like a little boss. He’s still learning to walk nicely on a leash and tends pull, so guidance and positive encouragement will be needed for him to learn his leash manners.
He’s also a car-ride enthusiast, always eager to bark at passing dogs (it’s his way of saying hello). At the park, Mocha Roo loves to run and gets along with small dogs. When the fun is over, Mocha Roo transforms into a total snuggle-bug. He adores nuzzling close to his human for cuddles and is happiest when he’s snoozing on a lap.
His ideal home would be with an adopter who isn’t away from home all day, every day. He would not do well in a home with cats or other small animals as he has a high prey drive. A home with older, respectful children would be fine. Mocha Roo is progressing with housetraining but still has accidents from time time, ime so the adopter would need to be prepared to continue with establishing predictable routines for bathroom breaks and praising him when he gets things right.
Mocha Roo may be a senior, but his heart — and his bounce — are still full of puppy spirit. If you’re looking for a loyal and affectionate companion who will keep you smiling, Mocha Roo is your guy!

Mocha Roo has had a veterinarian wellness check, he is microchipped, neutered, administered flea/tick prevention meds, and is up to date on his vaccinations.

If you are interested in adopting Mocha Roo please fill in an adoption application which is available on our website www.ccrt.net
