Meet Mocha <br/><br/>Mocha is a 1-year-old pit bull who found her way to the shelter as a stray and was never reclaimed, despite being microchipped. Life in the shelter has been overwhelming for her, and staff have observed that she is very timid and shy in her kennel. However, when she sees another dog heading out for a walk, her curiosity kicks in and she becomes more confident and much easier to approach.<br/><br/>On leash, Mocha is a very strong puller and is considered borderline not leash trained. She's determined and strong-willed-if she wants to go somewhere, she will, and if she wants to stop, she turns into a rock. Because of this, she would do best with a secure harness, consistent leash training, and a handler who can provide calm, patient guidance.<br/><br/>Despite her nerves, Mocha clearly wants love and attention. She just isn't sure how to ask for it yet. She's still quite scared in the shelter environment, but with time, structure, and kindness, her true personality is sure to shine.<br/><br/>Mocha is looking for a patient, committed home that understands young dogs need training and trust-building.
